CLASSMATES ACROSS THE DECADES --WATCH FOR YOUR MUG HERE

...that honored name we're fighting to defend...

Got a picture from your days at Grant High, or, perhaps, before or after. You can send it to our class post office box, Grant High 56, P.O. Box 69016, Portland OR 97201, or email it to our flaky webmaster, kerem@easystreet.com.

For your picture(s) to be used you must include the complete names of all parties pictured and name of sender. Puh-leez, no individual pictures of children, grandchildren -- unless accompanied by a parent or grandparent. It's you we're interested in viewing!

Shown at right are Jo Webster and Bob Warr in the famous Grant open position dance mode. Below: This amorous seaside assault by Darrell Woodman on Pauline Nelson (Class of 57) resulted in more than 40 years of marriage.

Remember when Oregon's beaches were in black and white...
...and all the girls wore one piece suits...

NOTE: BELOW IS ONE OF SEVERAL GLARING GAFFS ON THIS PAGE. NO PHOTO WILL "TAKE" HERE. THE REASON FOR THIS ETHEREAL HOLE IS UNKNOWN --- EVEN BY THE WEBSITE PROVIDER. REPEATED REQUESTS TO CORRECT THIS, AND OTHER DISPLAY PROBLEMS,
HAVE FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. BUT DON'T LET THIS LITTLE GLITCH DETER YOU FROM SENDING ON ONE OR MORE OF THE PICTURES YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD.

GRANT as it looked in 1995, when Mr. Holland's Opus was filmed there.
Lettering on plaque in foreground shows true name.

Once upon a time before Grant, the boys from Fernwood's 7th grade went on a picnic. L to R: Billy Kitchen, Bob Mann,Larry Ledwith,Joe Short,David Day, Mike Maginnis, Jerry Johnson, and mysterious Bob X.
Is this guy screwed up, or what?

AND YET another no-expenses-spared Grant High
stage production -- the '56 Dance Band Review.
R. to L. Gary Graver, Kim Duke, Bill Stewart,
Walt Wood, Marietta Buckmaster
and a band of hundreds led by frisky Harold Jeans.

GEEZER GATHERINGS like this occur infrequently in Portland, usually at the whim of Bob Warr, who calls call Grant types, "nuggets." So it was on January 4, 2001. How many old guys can you name? Any idea about location of the restaurant ? Here's a start on names: Tom Levak supplied this photo.

RAIN OR SHINE: WE ALL HAD LOTS OF TIME FOR THE BEACH. This bevy of beach beauties includes left to right: Jane Baumgartner, Sheila Priaulx, Sally Hussey, Sally Ostrander, Marlene Grassens, Carol Restad and Miss X. Any ideas about her identity?
WHEN JON PRICE went to Alameda, all the teachers
were kindly and all of the students above average

MR SANDMAN? Is jammy-clad Dick Bracken casting a spell over Al Anderson, Class of 55? That darling acolyte is Leonard Kesselman. All were marching band members appearing in Pasadena's 1955 Rose Parade.
YES, WE HAD OUR VALLEY GIRLS -- SUN VALLEY, THAT IS.
From the top: Marilyn Munson, Carole Nelson, Barbara Stout.
They claim they had so little money that they "ate crackers
with ketchup stolen from the restaurant, so we could
afford to buy a lift ticket." Sorry for the lousy reproduction
of this photo; it came in that teeny-weeny format,
circa 1957, with the wavy borders.

THE 3BS: MARY BARLOW, TOM BATY, LARRY BARRETT share some reminisces which go way back to grade school days. The trio met at Sam's Billiards for November 20th "girls and boys" luncheon.
WARD BARBEE GIVES US THAT OL' GRANT HI GRIN.

CAROL BLODGETT, ED WASHINGTON, GARY BLODGETT and JIM HOGUE yakked it up at November lunch. Though, as the shutter clicked, it appears something on CNN had caught Jim's eye.
LATEST GUY'S LUNCHEON ATTRACTS NEW OLD FACES (From left clockwise)
Tom Constans, Ed Washington, Tom Batie, Joe Wood, Ward Barbee.
Three silhouetted figures: Walt Wood, Gary Musmansky, Gary Blodgett.
Bill Stewart, Jim Hogue, Bob Warr, Larry Ledwith, Bob Wright.
Not shown, late arrival Bill Hale. The May 24th lunch was held at Columbia
riverside tavern near site of locally-ill-famed "Diddler's Beach."
First-timers to "old" lunch gang were the two Garys, Walt and Bob Wright.

SITE OF THE CLASS OF '56'S 45TH YEAR CLASS REUNION, now known
as HARLEY COUNTRY. View is looking toward HARLEY HIGGINS' bunkhouse. The wholesale plant nursery abuts a golf course located near rural Aurora
